Gua Sha
"Gua" meaning to scrape or rub, and "sha" meaning redness, involves using a smooth tool to apply pressure and rub the skin in specific directions. It can be used on various parts of the body including the face. The stroking motions of gua sha (generally not painful) can create temporary redness or red markings near the skin's surface.
I love using gua sha along with acupuncture to relieve muscle and joint pain. It's also used to help promote circulation and stimulate the immune system.
